"We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse"

So you have completed a few challenges in your time and the sort of person that is always on the lookout for something different. You have maybe completed the odd three peaks challenge and came away thinking great event but what's next???
WELL HERE IT IS.
A Small 17 seater coach will leave Braywick Leisure Park, Maidenhead on 21/08/10 at approximately 0600 hrs when the rest of the world sleeps.
Your luggage will consist of 1 rucksack per person. Contained neatly in said rucksack will be everything that you will need to survive for 36Hrs including all food and water and accommodation.
If you have never tried to carry everything you need to survive on your back for 36hrs you will be amazed just how heavy this works out to be. Very quickly things you call essential items at home become very disposable and unnecessary on a mountain to try and save as much weight as possible. Even to the point that I have trekked with people that have cut a toothbrush in half, taken half a bar of soap to wash and used a t-shirt to dry with so they don't need to carry an extra towel.
Even stripped down to the absolute survival essentials of food, water, fuel for cooking, one change of clothes (never used unless in an emergency) you will still be amazed at how heavy your load is. It really makes you appreciate the home comforts we call essential items at home.
We will arrive at Pencelli approx 0930 Saturday morning and start our route. We will climb 4 peaks: Pen-y-bryn, Fan-y-big, Cribyn, Pen-y-fan. Pen-y-fan is the highest and hardest and you will be pleased to find after climbing it we set-up camp at the base of it. THIS WILL NOT BE A CAMP SITE. No facilities what so ever and all you will have is what you carried on your back. We will then cook dinner using the buddy buddy system (don't worry if you don't know what this is - you soon will), then an early night unless anyone knows any good songs?
Day 2 will be an early morning wake up call, prep breakfast, pack your kit for the day and tear down camp ready to leave location very quickly (time pressure will be imposed for fun). We then leave for the long hard walk back to the bus ready for the journey home.
Don't just read this and think you can do it. PROVE YOU CAN DO IT. The weak make excuses of how they can do it but why they won't.
