Trojan Box Clever

Trojan Training was asked to provide a fun, educational and effective fitness session as part of a government backed incentive to increase training time available for pupils by one hour a week.

With boxing training at the heart of all of Trojan Training's approach it made sense to use this as the platform for school fitness. The circuit training style workout incorporates exercises used in traditional boxing training and focus pad work to aid with coordination, reaction skills and stress relief. It also offers each pupil a chance to have one to one contact time with the instructor.

The warm up and cool down also has an educational element to it by teaching pupils the names and location of major muscle groups and how to stretch them. The main element of the workout also teaches the pupils how each muscle group works within each exercise.

As the course progresses and pupil's knowledge of working muscle groups increases they are encouraged to stand in front of the group and instruct various stretches or exercises. This happens in the warm up and cool down element of the session under the close guidance of the instructor - this helps to build pupil's confidence.

In conjunction with all of this the pupils learn basic boxing skills from stance to throwing punches and combinations of punches and body movement.
